* Moscona, Isaac M. Zaproizkhoda na familnite imena na bulgarskite evrei. [ On the origins of the family names of the Bulgarian Jews]. Social Cultural and Educational Organization of the Jews in the People's Republic of Bulgaria. Godishnik [Annual], no.2: 111-137, 1967. .
* *Notes: 1. Many of names beginning with the letter 'K', were originally written with a 'C' . Both letters were tranliterated into the only 'K' existing in the Bulgarian language. For example: Alcalay or Catalan which became Alkalay and Kataln.
2. Many of originally Hebrew names beiginning with the smooth guttural Hebrew letter 'H' (Het) were transliterated into Bulgarian by ' ?' , which at its turn was transliterated into Latin letter by 'Kh'. For example: Hassid or Halfon which became Khassid and Khalfon.
Abrreviations: s. = see; s.a. = see also.
